BREEDING COCKERS

I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD COCKER SPANNIEL THAT IS IN HEAT AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO HAVE HER SIRED BY A SLIGHTLY TALLER COCKER WITH NO JOY AT ALL IVE STOOD HER ON A BLOCK OF WOOD BUT IT JUST DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK THE OWNER HAS THE DOG ON REST FOOD AND IT SEEMS TO TIRE QUICKLY WILL THAT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT AS MY LITTLE BITCH IS STANDING FOR IT ALL THE TIME

Is the male a proven stud? Is the bitch ready, just because she's in 'season' doesn't mean she's totally receptive, maybe too early/late.

 

We had the same thing with pair of ESS and after two attempts at different seasons we sold the bitch as sometimes no matter what they will not breed. We've had the same thing with a Patterdale bitch and sold her. In both instances the males were/are proven studs.

How many days in heat is your bitch ? i find it best just to leave the dog and bitch running free in a garden and let things take there course ,If the dog has lined bitch,s before he should do the rest

I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE SHE WAS 12 DAYS TILL SHE WAS 20 DAYS INTO HER CYCLE THE DOG JUST CANT SEEM TO ENTER MY BITCH BUT IT GOT THERE TWICE BUT JUST DIDNT GET RIGHT THERE BEFORE IT RELEASED ITS SEEMENWE TRIED TO HELP THE DOG BUT IFF WE TOUCHED THE DOG TO HELP IT WITH ITS DUTY IT WOULD SWELL UP STRAIGHT AWAY AND RELEASE AGAIN

MY LITTLE BITCH IS STANDING ALL THE TIME WHEN THE DOG GETS ON HER BUT THE DOG JUST SEEMS TO JUMP ON WORK AWAY WITHOUT EVEN ENTERING HER IT SEEMS TO TIRE PRETTY QUICK THATS WHY I AM ASKING IFF THE DOG BEING ON REST FOOD WILL AFFECT ITS ENERGY AND IT NOT BEEN ABLE TO FINISH DOING THE BUSINESS ITS A BEAUTIFUL DOG AND ALL I WOULD LOVE IS FOR THEM BOTH TO BE ABLE TO PAIR UP AS I THINK THEY WOULD PRODUCE A GREAT LITTER BETWEEN THEM

i dont think the food willl have anything to do with it,if a dog is proven he would line anything.

all dogs tire whilst trying to mate,but a good proven dog knows his job and basicaly where to put it before he tire's.

a couple of minutes break should do the job, if not look for a proven cocker.

I KNEW WHEN MY DOG CAME INTO HEAT, PLEASE TRY TO READ AND [uNDERSTAND] I TOOK HER TO THE DOG AT [12 DAYS ] INTO HER CYCLE AND HAD IT WITH THE DOG EVERY NIGHT TILL SHE WAS [20 DAYS]ON THATS WHEN [NO OTHER DOG] WAS SHOWING INTEREST IN HER BUT, WHEN MY BITCH WAS WITH THE DOG IT WAS MOUNTING HER TIME AND TIME AGAIN WITHOUT MANAGING TO DO THE BUSINESS MY LITTLE BITCH WAS PUT ONTO A BLOCK OF WOOD BECAUSE SHE WAS SMALLER THAN THE DOG , THE OWNER OF THE DOG SUGGESTED IT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM, IT WAS NOT PENETRATING HER AS I WROTE IN MY PREVIOUS POST, I JUST WISH THAT WHEN PEOPLE READ SOMETHING INSTEAD OF MAKING THEMSELVES LOOK SILLY, THEY WOULD ALSO BE ABLE TO [uNDERSTAND] THAT THESE PAGES WERE PUT ONTO A COMPUTER TO HELP PEOPLE IN THESE SITUATIONS INSTEAD OF WRITING STUPID REMARKS THAT PEOPLE JUST DONT WELCOME. THEN PEOPLE THAT HAVE NOT BRED COCKERS BEFORE MAYBE JUST MAYBE, MIGHT JUST BE ABLE TO GET A LITTLE ADVICE FROM A GOOD DOG BREEDER THAT DOES KNOW WHAT HE OR HER IS TALKING ABOUT RATHER THAN SOMEONE THAT KNOWS NOTHING AND ONLY HAS THE CAPABILITY TO WRITE SOMETHING STUPID THAT HELPS NO ONE AT ALL , ALL IT DOES IS MAKE THE PERSON MAKING THE REMARK LOOK SILLY EVEN THOUGH PEOPLE THAT ARE ON THESE PAGES MAY KNOW THEM. i dont use the comp a lot so i did not understand what you meant also im not a woman the name lydia came from my youngest granddaughter which my son had after loosing his seven year old daughter to leukemia im a 51 year old male as it is written in my status but thanks anyway for the advice

simple answer chuck them in the garden for a while and keep a look from inside if it doesn't happen try another stud dog as it sounds like he may be the issue.

I think you will find that on most if not all forums typing with the caps lock on is regarded as shouting and to be quite frank rude perhaps you are unaware of this unwritten rule,but you are now !! so feel free to ask for friendly advice without shouting.

Also like all forums I am affraid there are always a few ***** who make stupid and unhelpful comments ,though in the main they are great guys / girls on here with lots of good advice to offer,the key is to ignore the ones who try to increase there post count by sprouting rubbish.

thanks mark it just seemed that the guy with the dog wanted me to take my bitch to his dog as at first he said he would bring his dog to my home then the day it was due he rang me and asked me to bring my bitch to his home, i was there for four to five hours every night, from the 12th day to the 20th and every night he asked me to bring my dog to his the following day ,the dog was mounting my bitch but just could not seem to manage, it was swelling up even before it entered her but the gentleman told me that his dog had already sired two other dogs, so i thought it was fine ,her time has passed for this season so ive missed her ,i will be looking for another dog the next time she comes into season, it got to the stage at one time my little bitch was trying to mount the dog lol but ,i will bide me time shes only two and maybe ill have better luck the next time with her, thanks everyone for your fine advice.
