If you wanted to look at them somewhere more local (Essex) Eastern Sporting in Gt Baddow carry Stoegers.

They do look & feel quite nice, think theyre imported and distributed by BSA but not 100% sure.

That would make sense they look a lot along the lines of the lightnings, personally speaking if you want a spring gun I would go for a second hand HW 95k or 77/97 should be able to pick a nice 95k and scope up for around 250 or less.

I can't swear to it but I'm sure I read somewhere that the action is actually based on the SMK XS19.

Like all the cheaper springers it would probably benefit from a strip, deburr and relube. The biggest risk with buying cheaper stuff to start is you either getbored and give up or you get cheesed off with inaccuracy and then have to go and buy something better. It might be wiser in the long run to try and get a secondhand TX200 or similar.

Regards

Tim.

HI Mate

I have packed up a Mk1 or MK2 (not too sure which) HW77K in really good condition for £120 with a 4x32 scope and bag. I swapped the scope for a better one. Despite its age it still capable if hitting the 40mm kill zone of a knockover tatget at 50yds if I do my bit and is right up at 11fp. I chap up here was selling an HW80 with scope and sling for £150.00, I was sooo tempted. Both large and heavy but it depends on the stature / age of the intended user.

Yes there are bargains to be had.
