denney's dippers are the best. :shout::shout::yahoo::yahoo:  :good:

I agree, the Deny Dippa's look a lot better than the churchill nodding dogs in the first video. Problem with those is you pay big bucks as your not only paying for the mechanism, but a modified shell deek. Denny Dippa's are purely the mechanism for you to attach to your own shell (or F.U.D...or full bodied with small conversion)

Cracking bit of kit for cheapy cheapy!

PM deny essex above for price and availability

Just got in from work and they were waiting for me. I've put one on a shell and think it's going to be a brilliant tool, I take my hat off to you. I recently bought one of those nodding dog types and was really dissapointed with how flimsy and fiddly it was, whereas yours seem as if they will stand a bit of wear and litterally took me 10 seconds to mount. I'll pass on your name roun...

How much are they?

They are a lot less than the "nodding dogs".

I was really dissapointed with them, the mechanism was held up with a wooden barbecue stick and the action is worked by hooking a rubber band (yes, just a normal thin rubber band) from the motor to the decoy. I tried it once and then threw it to the back of the garage, with the stick in pieces and the rubber band missing.

Dennys fix easily and securely to the spring stick and everything is one simple unit, way way better in my opinion.

Do people use these on the whole decoy setup or just some of them to give a little movement?

I personaly find 3 in a pattern of 10 works fine , 2 if the other decoys have some wind movement.

I do use 5 in a 12 pattern in part grown crop to add extra feeding movement and in the winter I shall be useing more .

Not having used them from a winters start I cant say how many I feel is right.

Like all our decoying , different days different ways.

As Denny has said, depends on conditions. If the wind is gusty then the deeks on spring sticks will give enough movement all by themselves. However, when there is'nt enough wind to move the deeks as is often the case a few Dippas scattered amongst your pattern will make all the difference. How many you use depends on your own situation. If you watch a group of pigeons feding there are always some moving. On chickweed or clover they can all be on the move walking the field like a flock of sheep whereas on OSR where they have to shell the pods or wheat they remain fairly static but bob up and down. Try and match what is happening.

BTW - the Dippas are fantastic :good:
