Herts Flush Event

Hi guys,

After such a cracking evening at the last flush event (thanks major disorder - top quality. Read about it here), Herts have decided to 'host' the next round! But, we thought we might put a little spin on it.

This is really just a heads up to gauge interest. It is likely to take place next month as it's a busy time for Mr Farmer with the Harvest (possibly 27th August). Same situation as last time, i'll put up some dates and people can choose their preferred choice. Payment to me via paypal to get the all important level of commitment. Unfortunately, unlike Northampton Shooting Ground we don't get such a desirable price on clays. This will mean the cost may go up a couple of quid, but literally only that.

General theme for the morning (all approximate);

Same amount of birds per team, but presented in more of a 'simulated game' type affair. This is based on a Saturday, but could possibly be an evening (although we were pushing it a bit last time and it's getting darker sooner already);

10am:

Muster at Farm. Load up the 'game bus' and on to the first drive.

1030am:

Drive 1; Each team presented with a good 75-bird flush. Birds being driven through the woods and up a bank where the guns will be waiting at their peg! Bang bang. Each team will shoot two times (150 birds per team in total).

Sometime after 1030am:

Back into the 'gun bus' and onto the second drive. Pork pie and a wee nip of something (non-alcoholic) en-route.

Drive 2; Pegs now at the bottom of a valley for some testing high birds being driven over a bank. Watch out for that springing teal! Another 150 birds per team (x2 75 flushes).

Back into the gun bus and ending up in the 'shoot barn' for a bacon sarnie (from my own pigs) and some tea and coffee... and awards ceremony (where the Herts Junior team will win the cup)!

Then for those that don't need to get away, there is a pub 2 minutes down the road (rather conveniently called 'The Rusty Gun').

Like I said, this is really only to gauge interest. We need similar amount of teams as before (5+) to make it viable. Let me know with a yay or nay to start, I'll chuck your names down and then work out the finer details with the rest of the crew when it looks a go-go.

Thanks guys...

Ben

Hi Ben

Hope your well. I have not been shooting much lately as been busy working/ playing lots of football/ and generally being married. Anyway if there's room I would love to tag along.

Thanks

Ryan

Hello Ryan, nice to hear from you again, there will be a place for you.

Cheers

Terry
