Salop Matt
Am looking at a new stock for my CZ452 HMR varmint (Heavy barrel, I have spotted the laminate ones and really like the look of them but the websites arnt listing prices ! So has anyone bought one yet and if so what sort of money did they cost ? In addition that that, those that require you to finish the stock how much did the products cost you and also how much time did you spend on the finishing ? Cheers
Dunkield
You will be probably be looking at a minimum of £100 depending on where it comes from and the exchange rate. The Richards Microfit ones, of which I have 2, need quite a lot to finish them off, if you aren't very practical they are not for you. Salop Matt
Am not the most practical, so would prefer to stick to something that only needs sanding and varnishing / lacuring ! I was looking at : http://www.laminategunstocks.co.uk/index.cfm I would happily pay £100 for one of these stocks and £20 for finishing products, but would also happily pay £50 for someone else to finish it for me ! Am going to send them an email and ask for some prices or a quote ! There site doesnt say where in the UK they were !

Salop Matt
Snowz, if you dont mind me asking what rifle make and model have you purchased for ? Am really concerned as i have the varmint barrel wich is bigger and am concerned that the boyds stocks wont fit ! Also everything under CZ is listed as .22 not HMR ! snowz
I have a Cz 452 with the standard barrel, my m8 also the same. His has arrived and he said it looks like the stock was designed for the American which has the thicker barrel I believe, all he had to do was open out a hole in the stock for the action screw and it all fits nicely. Both our rifles ares .22lr but don't think it makes too much difference Hth Richard

If you get the RMF one you be doing a fair bit of sanding anyway, so sanding the barrel relief can just be added to the list
TaxiDriver
I bought a CZ455 with the heavy varmint barrel in the laminate thumbhole stock and don't think I'm getting on with it as I find the comb is very flat and quite low, I'm having trouble with my head tipping over the top of the stock to get a good eye relief on the scope. Anyone know if/where and how much I might buy an ambi' sporter style wooden stock ?
Salop Matt
I know that now you can buy a new CZ with a CZ TH stock but not sure what there like. How ever am buying from Boyds in the US and they replyed to me last night to say that there stocks come already machined for the heavyer barrel of the varmint which was my concern ! So now I just need to get my colour choice made and order placed !
Dunkield
Nice one. Roughly how much are they these days? I think you will find it miles better than the standard stock Let's see a picture of it when it arrives

Salop Matt
Works out at £56 to buy plus the postage on top then uk import tax brings it out at about £110, which is cheaper than any other offered in the UK and the boyds are completely finished ready to go ! So a much better deal !
snowz
More like £90 to buy an £28 import tax that's what it cost me an my mate

Salop Matt
Am stuck between the TH and the sporter ! The TH looks nicest but practically i think the sporter is better for me ! Never know next year i might accessorise again and get a second stock then i can choose how to dress my HMR for each outing ! LOL

Dunkield
Nice For me the biggest gain was not having to lift me head to look straight down the scope.
Cannon
Ordered a Boyd's stock yesterday. Will post pics when it arrives if I can figure out how to do it
snowz
The finished quality of these are excellent. If fitting them with a 22lr like mine, you will have to open out the rear bolt hole all the way through to 8mm then on the inlet side open up to 16mm wide an about 8-10mm deep to accommodate the threaded block on the underside of the action. Easy peasy lol

If it fits and I'm happy with it the original stock will be going up for sale
