bertie
I too have a beretta AL 391 and love it i've put several thousand cartrages through it with only a handfull of jams. I was considering selling it and getting an extrema 2 as im starting to get into wildfouling, but my pal has just got a baikal MP153 which for its money is fantastic gun too (not for light loads though) Made me think i can keep my beretta and buy a baikal! Best of both worlds eh!

marsh fox
I am interested in the Beretta Extrema but dont know the difference between the Extrema and the Extrema 2 - can anyone enlightern me ? The old extrema had a more broad pistol grip the new gun is a bit more comfy on the grip they say, and the 2 is fitted with a recoil redecer in the but aparently other than that not a lot its the same basic gun, you can have a fancy foresight to at extra money. Mungler
I have had an AL391 bank holiday weekend. Decoying Saturday a.m, Clays Sunday a.m and today more decoying, but this time in the rain and mud. It has had probably 1000 carts through it just over the weekend alone and started to jam today as we finished up - this is I assume because I dropped a few carts in the mud before loading. It's a fantastic gun on all counts, and the jamming was my fault so fairs fair. However, I now know that it is "too nice" a gun to take out and get dirty with. I will keep it for clays and dry days out. I am now looking for a cheap and reliable pump gun - most appear to be sub £295 from new. Any recommendations most welcome. Was looking at the Mossberg camo. Cheers, Andy

roe doe
you will not go wrong with the mossberg once you get used to keeping pressure on the fore end by doing so as you pull the trigger you automatically start to slide the action back making for fast re-loading
MC
I had a Baikal MP153 and it was the worst gun I had ever used, I had several wildfowling trips ******** up as the bl**dy thing kept jamming up. I got a full refund on it and bought an Extrema. No problems so far. Cheers Martin PS I have an extended cylinder choke for a Bailkal free to a good home if anyone wants it. ROB REYNOLDS UK
it dont matter which auto you buy ,you have got to keep it clean on the inside and oiled up to keep it working right and some dont like some carts ,
il cacciatore
Done exactly like you did. First bought the beretta and then bought a cheap pump for getting dirty. Picked up a Winchester Mod 1200 and its alright. Pumps are great and under rated. Alright I agree they arent for everyone but they do have good plus points: cheap, reliable, that extra cartridge and the fun factor. Mungler
Yep the AL391 is too good for getting dirty. Took it back to the shop today for them to give it its first 1000 cartridge service (free) and got a right rollocking (yes that's rollocking Cranfield) for getting it so mucky so quickly. Big shout out to Essex Guns for the top service and for having the cheapest synthetic AL391's around. Mung
