rb5037
Right, I've decided to go fishing again, not been for a couple of years. Thinking of going to the lakes in Dorking as you can get some good all day sport with carp averaging 4-10 lbs and a good head of tench. Want to go somewhere close ish to me 30/45 min drive (Guildford, Surrey), anyone know or think of somewhere that would give me a 100% good busy day? If I was looking for a good days sport not too far from Guildford I think I would go to Willow Park or maybe Gold Valley, both are in Ash. rb5037
Thanks for that Chris, Gave willow park a ring and they said the middle lake is fishing well and has been for the last 2 weeks. 1st lake has a match on monday so i'll prob go on the middle one unless i get there early and i might sign up for the match. If not it could be Dorking. Weather's not look that good for monday, as long as the wind stays down it should be good for fishing. Thanks Adam
rb5037
Well, i went to gold valley in the end and what a fantastic day i had. I was fishing 13' 4lbs line 14 hook all day with corn, worm, maggot and caster and caught all day. Hit crucian up to 3 lbs poss over and had 3 great perch, one being at least 3.5 lbs. Got into a 45 Min's session of bream and had a good number of nice roach and Rudd. And of course the normal mixture of small silver fish. lost two nice sized carp, didn't really stand a chance on the light tackle i was fishing, didn't even see the *******. All in all i had a great day (thanks to Chris reminding me of the venue) and I've got a pass to go again this Sunday. No picture though as my newish phone doesn't take them but I'll be sure to take a camera this Sunday Adam
