gixxerboy
Yes you can use a phone book mate... you look in it for the number of a shop that sells chrono's...
Dexterboyz
not as far as i know, the chrony is the best way, giving you a exact reading of what speed it leaves the muzzle at! the phone book is a good show of strength but does not have a conclusive pellet speed! as you can imagine, depending on pellet type and weight each pellet would go to a different page! i dont know if you have ever tried it but its very hard to judge which page the pellet has made it to, and then you have nothing to get an accurate reading from i,e does page 600 say that your gun is shooting at 10ft/lb? etc, this is the technique my grandad used in the old days just to say "my rifle is more powerfull than yours"! get yourself a chrony m8. Jega
Mate please please please invest in a chronograph as soon as possible, the consequences for having an air rifle that registers 12ft/lb are horrendous, confiscation of all guns ,huge fine and imprisonment. The authorities are merciless on this one mate.
