Permissions fell through....

Well...

The permissions I was hoping to be given permissions no longer want a shooter.

So now I think I'm going to try the local golf courses.

I pass the Cleethorpes golf club every day on the way to work and it is absoloutely teaming with rabbits. I think I'm going to go in and ask if I can offer them my services pest controlling in return for some free advertising.

As I'm pretty handy on the computer (photoshop and the likes...), I think I can do them some A6, A5 and A4 sized posters and then put them arround town in shop windows and notice boards etc.

I suppose anything in return is great. Especially when it's free!?

So what do you think? I'm not going to give up until I get my permissions.

And just a question, Should I ask for the Greenkeeper or the manager? I want to make sure I get direct contact with the right person.

If anyone else has any tips or has permission on a golf course and can tell me some good advice please post here or send me a PM.

Cheers and ATB,

Tom.

Seek out the head greenkeeper first as he will be your main contact. He is likely to be there early mornings and it's good to pop in for a chat sometimes. If he likes you and what you are offering it will probably be discussed with a few on the commitee before final approval - and get it in writing.

A shooting card to hand him as you introduce yourself will go a long way.

I always say that I was talking to a couple of members who were going on about the amount of rabbits that are wrecking the course

The last thing the club want Is disgruntled members ;)

The same goes for asking for permission from farmers, I never mention pigeons but ask If I can control the crows Instead :good:

The amount of times I`ve asked for permission and the farmer has said, I have someone that shoots the pigeons but If your willing to do the crows then that`s great ;)

Every farmer hates crows and most of them know that pigeon shooting Is very sought after.

dont tell people where you are going to go ask, as some folk on here are ****bags and will swipe it from under your nose.

That my friend is one of the best bits of advice you are likely to be given! :good:

When you find a likely permission play your cards very close to your chest or someone else is likely to try to get in ahead of you.

As has bee said, in the case of a golf club the head green keeper should be your first port of call!

Thanks to all that posted. I usually see a guy on a tractor early mornings around 6:30am and hes usually cutting the same piece of grass so I guess he works to a schedule. I'll find out when he arrives and coincidentially try and turn up at the same time and ask if he needs any help with a shooting card in my pocket. I know he sees the rabbits as they are always there on the field not far from him and his tractor. And thanks the the adivce guys... Cards... chest. Got it!

Cheers ,

Tom.
