smig4373
Set up on the rape stubble again a week last Tuesday.we set up after work around 4-45pm...There had been birds on these 3 fields for a few weeks now...I'd taken 48 or so off the field the previous week..Anyways...we split up in the same field and the pigeons started to flood back in...Some good shooting was had by both...We packed up at 7-30 having shot 50 between us.We could only pick 41...9 landed in the long stuff behind....And excellent evenings shooting... The same friend and i set up on the same field last Saturday at about 6-15am...Knowing that the farmer was going to plough in the stubble over the weekend..we set up in exactly the same place as the previous outing..It started slowly as first but things soon picked up as the farmer was in the field behind us pushing the birds off that field...Between about 11-30 and 2ish we had a great flurry of birds and they were pitching in thick and fast...after that it went quiet again as the sun peeped through...We ended at 4pm having shot 130 between us...50 for me,80 for mike..result..picked 111..another great day for Cornwall...and a PB for both of us

smig4373
Well Done Thats not your gun laying on the floor behind 4x4 in the second picture is it? Yeah... I'm afraid so...Its always the last thing to go in the car...the birds were still floating around when we were packing up..So kept it out just in case..haha. Do you work your dog on rape i have a springer spaniel and i don't take him when shooting on rape stubble as it is left so long up here and is very sharp.. Its not my dog...Its my friends that just takes it for a bit of experience. She only a pup..He doesn't work her on the stubble... great bag well done lads i must say thats a real nice looking cocker you have there Sadly she's not mine...(see above)..She doe's look like a cocker tho doesn't she... In fact, she's a sprocker..Not very old..about a year i think... some good bags been had off that field 220 roughly...No more tho..been ploughed in now...gutted...there was still a healthy flock floating around...
