djbennyt
Hi, just wondering if anyone has recently applied for a SGC in Staffs. I sent mine off on 20th June, and was wondering anyone has gone through this process in the last few months could tell me how long I should expect to wait. The police won't tell me the turnaround at the moment. ALSO... Please no smarmy "i live in X and got my SGC in 2 seconds" type comments

IKNIGHT167
I got mine in Staffordshire last year and I think it took between 6-8 weeks. I fitted my cabinet before my visit so that moved things along a bit quicker.

dan-250
All I no is it takes them some time with police cut backs and all that, I'm in Lincolnshire and still not heard a thing and theyve had mine 5 weeks on Tuesday, cabinet is in but still no feo to check as of yet :( it's just a long waiting game I'm afraid. It also took 3 and half weeks to cash the cheque. It's rather annoying as it feels like years like a kid waiting for Christmas Edited August 27, 2011 by dan-
stokie
I am under Staffs and have just got my renewal back and it took 5 months . My licence had expired by 3 months . I rang up and they told me it's ok because I'm in the system . I also put in for a variation for my FAC and that took 10 weeks . When Brett Oakes the feo came around he said it was because they had made 8 people redundant in the department due to cut backs and their are only five left . When i raised my concerns that i was illegally holding shotguns he said this was about average and new applications were longer because of background checks They have also moved the office to Stafford police station and are due to move again soon as it's not big enough They are using normal bobbies to do home visits now . Get your application in and be patient is the only advise I can give
thegingeritalian
I put in my FAC application about 6 weeks ago and got a letter 2 weeks ago to say they had received the check and would progress the application "without any unnecessary delay". Still waiting for a home visit to be organised :look: All I can say is hang on in there
