jimbo1
i spoke to jane major at bryantscroft the other day on the phone about my pointer....£110 per week....first month upfront for residential training....expensive but i would think well worth it in the end. rory will assess your dog the first month and then tell you whether it has potential or not. james

Remember as with all kennels if the dog needs the vet during its stay thats your cost.

Vets bill during training for things that happen during training are the responsibility of the trainer, that is why we pay insurance (At silly premiums) A GSP would cost you about £60- £85 for a weeks boarding - so training on top is not that much more (Although we charge more for residential training (Supply/demand) and it is relative to our boarding costs) Mike
arwen3513
Hi is it residential training you are after? if you are new to training also, then you would be better to learn along side the pup with 121 or group taining and do your homework between lessons whilst you are bonding. jan

I once had this issue with a certain well known Kennel near Chorley The vet refused my payment and said the Kennel would be paying it as it was sheer negigence verging on both cruelty and Fraud. Mind you this was about 15 yrs ago and i have told maybee 100 dog people who it is. I believe Rory's take on it is your cost not his? Its not a great money spinner training dogs when you look at the overheads from a buisness point of view more a lifestyle choice
MiLisCer
Kent, That is why I pay my insurance - only a fool doesn't have commercial insurance to cover costs! (most will be insured but try damn hard to get out of it) - why **** people off - if accidents happen when training then the trainer should foot the bill. If it is something outside of his/her control that is not a result of the dog being there, then fair enough the owner foots the bill. Why save a few pounds on not paying for proper insurance to run the risk of being dragged through the courts - gives customers confidence too. Never needed to claim on anything, but I am probably one of only a small handful that has professional indemnity insurance too - in the current UK climate, not worth not having it! Always someone willing to try their luck at court! I am currently training 4 dogs for export to the US - my insurance will also cover me for Pro indem if something happens out there.
