Hi guy's,

Since buying my .17 hmr, I have always shot Remington 17grains through it with absolutely great results. :good:

I have now been give a box of Hornady 'Varmint Express', 17 grains and a box of CCI 'Gamepoint' 20 grains to try out. :good:

Has anyone got any information on these two new rounds that I have been given?

Before anyone gives the comment, 'If you have good results with Remingtons, why change?', I am still curious as to these different rounds as I do a great deal of rabbit control on a local golf course and I am wondering as to the difference in these rounds for the job. I am aware that certain rounds will perform well through different rifles.

Cheers.

Rob.

I'm not entirley sure but I have heard that the Rmmingtons are made by Hornady, so there shouldnt be any difference. I have been using the remmingtons and havent had any problems bar 1 missfire. Before that I used Federal cartridge .17HMR which I rate very highy, the only reason I have switched to Rems for now, is that I have a supplier very close to me. They also do CCI but I won't use them out of principal that thier .22LR is useless. As for HP well I havent found I need it yet as the V-MAx is both very accurate and good enough on Fox at the ranges I shoot. :good:
