harrycatcat1
I had a bit of a lay in and got up at 03.30, a 2 hour drive, 10 minutes getting changed, in position for 06.00. It was a 5.6m tide at 11.55 so it was just a dawn flight. There was unusual noises all around which turned out to be bullocks all around the marsh, it seemed like millions all over. Anyway the upshot of it all was there were no legitimate fowl on the marsh to shoot only thousands of Brent geese. So out came the camera. It was like a summers day It looks like some birds had been enjoying this creek. Nothing shot but nevertheless I still enjoyed every minute. Grandalf
I shot Kirton when I was much younger than today and have very happy memories of the marsh. Seem to remember that it was one of the easiest places to get disorientated in. Gutters went every which way but the way you wanted to go. Is it still the same? oxfordfowler
Hi HCC, Did my 2 hour 20 min drive this morning. Only heard 2/3 shots from over the other side (Kirton)as I sat in my chosen ditch watching the tide, seals and the ducks moving. 12 shots for 6 widgeon this morning . Good numbers of Widgeon moving all morning until about 11:00. Not a site or sound of any geese (except the so & soing Brent ) How did you get no this morning ?.
