onefulham
Good news, my son had the visit today and told he is being recommended for his SGC, well done Beds/Herts police, about 8 weeks from dropping in the application at Harpenden , would have been quicker but they said to wait till his 15th birthday , and then we were away in our caravan in Norfolk. We were not going to go for his cert as seemed a vanity thing but I like the idea of the responsibility for him ,but mostly our local club will only allow Cert holders. Sorry for waffling on, we are so proud, have to say tougher interview than the lady who delt with me, wonder if because he is under 18 or just ex policeman being more thorough ? Sorry still waffling, my question is, now he is getting his SGC, I assume he should get insurance as well, the world we live in today, I am a BASC member, is it worth joining him as a junior member or is there a cheap plain insurance around ? Thank you for any advice.

Bleeh
It's also worth remembering that letting him have a SGC will help him keep out of mischief, and if you are caught by the police being naughty it's oh so easy to loose. Davyo
My sons been shooting since 7 yrs old now 12 & to be honest i feel more comfortable shooting around him than adults. To be honest he is also a better shot than me a pleasure to watch. When he's on form i'm happy to sit in the hide passing cartridges.Shooting doesnt get any better than that. onefulham
Thank you for the advice about Juniors being free with SACS, just feels at bit mean, (I know I am but)using them just for the free insurance when we are not Scottish, as a BASC member I was going down that road I think, now see CA is just £9 the first year, but then £9 we don't neeed to spend if can put away my guilty feelings for free SACS, decisions !
