Stoeger Any Good?

I am looking to purchase a Stoeger X10 or X20. The main reason is that I have taken my Son who is 11yrs old with me clay shooting a couple of times and whilst he enjoyed it he struggled with even a 20g. So I think he is a couple of years away from shooting at the clays.

So I thought I would purchase a pretty cheap air rifle and geet some targets for the back garden to keep him happy in the mean time. Dont want to spend a fortune but want something half decent that can also take the odd woody that lands in our garden.

Happy for any advice on this and open to any suggestions from the experienced lads on here (and lassies I am sure)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ricky

Its a job to know what to suggest without knowing what sort of size your lad is ,could he not shoot a 410 shotgun ?.

It will all depend on what weight gun he can handle he will find it very difficult to use a airgun that too heavy.

I brought my 11 year old nephew a cheap smk with a synthetic stock very lightweight and not too much power ,it was only about £45 quid new from memory.

The stoegers have a reputation for being a "ok" gun if you have a resonable buget I would recommend either a hw 25 which comes as a starter kit including a scope or a bsa meteor which is a more powerful and a bit heavier if he can handle it but which would be more suitable if you/ he intends to do any hunting.

My local RFD stocks them,

always has a few in stock, they look nice enough and the prices are quite keen.

And not heavy, they do wood and synthetic stocked versions.

Not sure, but I think theyre imported & distributed by BSA.

Imported/distributed by GMK as suggested by Arjimlad below
