AA S400 VS BSA R10

You have to be fair. The R-10 is regged and the s400 is not (if its stock) Then you could argue about getting more shots with the r-10 ect. Neither of them are going to be 'the best' but its what you prefer and what you shoot best with. Imo they are both beautifull guns and if i had the money i would get the r-10, just down to having 10 shots at a time and being regged :)

Out of the two the AA S400 hands down the R10 mark one has had more problems than a little yes it has more shots, magazine, regulator but you wanted it for HFT not rough shooting the AA S400 is a proven tool for HFT and as acurate as any top rifle you can fit an after market Regulator made by Tweaky or Ben Taylor but to make it better on a Budget you can polish the trigger sears fit copper crinkle washers to the trigger instead of the O rings also boil the internals in Slick 50

The Slick 50 bit was told to me by someone I would consider as a top shot in the country and won the First WHFTA Event at Kelmarsh

Valid point but you are wrong. The r10 mk2 quite simply is the nuts mine produces something that the aa cant and that is a little bit of sex wee every time I use it.

To be fair I was really torn between the two when I went to purchase my first pcp but the bsa's looks won me over since then it's accurancy and useability have made me think I made the right desicion. Each to there own tho and I have no doubt the air arms is nothing short of an excellent rifle.

(but the R10 is better)

There is now a new regulator available for the AA pcps, manufactured by a chap called Adreij or something similar, costs about £80 and fitted in minutes, no drilling or machining required. A few on AAOC have fitted one with pretty good results.

As for which is best, accuracy is not an issue with either, it's how the gun fits you and whether you can get on with it.

It would be interesting to have some figures about percentage of returns for warranty claims or repairs for each make.

Tim.

After not posting for a while i thought i would get involved with this thread.

I own a S400 and my friend has an R-10. Both are very good but i would say that for the price the S400 is very, very good. I would not say that the R-10 is £200 better, when plinking he finds the magazine annoying and is after a single shot conversion/adapter. However, when out lamping etc. The magazine is very useful. I find my S400 very consistent and accurate, offering a good number of shots per fill. Mine is a classic superlite and is much lighter than the R-10.

I would say both are good but if a single shot is all that is needed i would take the S400 every time.... :good:
