Result, poppy burning group banned

This is all very complicated but...it's easy to call people racists and bigots, and of course there are a few about..

But what so often happens is that theirs is a reaction based on the anger people feel about the way these things are reported, and the lack of balance therein. Many, many people throw up their hands in despair because it appears that a minority group of extremists seem to be getting their own way, and it's hardly surprising, because of how these things are reported by the media.

The basic fact is that there are certain groups, protected in law, who, when 'offended' or insulted will react in a measured and dignified way, and there are other groups who will strap on a dynamite vest and blow you up.

And the latter group is scarier.

And you don't want to go offending someone who can and will blow you and your family up.

An elderly gent selling a poppy will not do that and is, ergo, a softer target.

Sorry, but I'm with Poontang on this. :good: :good: :good:

No need to be sorry :good:

I'm just trying to point out that not all people who find the burning of poppies or union jacks sickening also run around with white cloaks on their heads. I just think that at the moment any white British person that shows a bit of patriotism or even just strong feelings towards the country are branded as bigots. If you travel across to Canada the US or even Australia the public would be outraged but here we seem to find reason to defend the indefensible which is utterly ridiculous.

This isn't about racism or religion, it's about inciting riotous behaviour and disrespect for those that fought (and died) for freedom, our culture and traditions! If it were not for the sacrifice made by so many this country would not be such a "cushy" place for these "extremists" and "hard liners" to live, or are they too stupid or blinkered to realise that?

The question that should be asked is: If we were to go to a muslim country and disrespect their "ways and traditions" we would be quite severely punished by them and told that if we didn't like it to leave their country, yet if they want to come here and do exactly the same they are allowed to get away with it - Someone tell me please - Where is the equality in that?

If our government were not so "lilly livered" and constantly allowing these extremeist to get away with this sort of behaviour we might not need to be discussing things like this!

Never mind "Human Rights" let's start by seeing some "Common Sence and Respect" from these people who want to continue to live in the UK and have our Social System support them and allow them to live in comfort with free accomodation, food in their bellies, free Health Care, free edcucation and money in their pockets (Plus namy more untold benefits)

Respect has to be earned!"

Poontang post a little bit random? Gone from poppy burning Muslim extremists to war heroes and gurkhas. Not everyone with a strong patriotic view is inherently racist. Bigotry works both ways.

Not random at all, simply a reply to the 'send them ALL back' brigade.

I can assure you I'm as sick and tired as most people with the extremists in this country, and that includes the likes of the BNP/NF/EDL etc.

The 'send them all back' argument just reminds me of the sort of rhetoric we hear from Nick Griffin & co. Frankly it's insulting to anyone with one iota of common sense.

It certainly is but this is the knee jerk reaction we get by frustration at the totally inept way our government deals with extremism on all ends of the spectrum.
