rapid12
hi all. just abit unsure where i stand here i have some land in which i have full permission for pest control and vermin. the land is NOT kept land, for any type of game shooting. my question is, that if im shooting on a sunday and there is pheasant or partridge on my land eating crops and generally just being a pest am i legal to shoot them or is it still classed as ( no game on sunday rule ) cheers in advance. gixer1
Nope, it's still game.... Edited to say - it would seem you are dressing this up to allow you to shoot a pheasant or partridge and calling it "pest control" how much damage can a pheasant/partridge cause? Pheasants can cause quite a bit of damage because unlike a pigeon they will dig out the seed ,I have witnessed pheasants going up and down rows of peas digging almost everyone out. having said that you stil cant shoot them on a sunday ! falconer21
when getting permission for shooting you should make sure you and the land owner have gone through what can be shot and what cant it saves problems in the future i have 70 acres where i can shoot rabbits and foxes but not pheasent or partidge farmers wife likes the birds but its great for rabbits si respect there wishes to keep the land

I have shot this land for a few years now and the agreement with the land owner is a simple one, shoot whatever i like as long as its legal. Cheers again. looks like i will have to shoot on saturdays now.
