ESTIBAN
i have the chance of a browning a bolt composite stalker once i can raise some more cash. are these a good rifle or should i hold out for something different. I had been looking on guntrader at their parker hales which are just £150 and thought they were a bargain at that price. what should i do? 12borejimbo
Get the A blot, Parker hales are ok, but if you put the 2 guns next to each other, then you would choose the A bolt every time. Better action, better barrel, better stock ect. A bolt A blot, A bolt.
willy1
I looked at the A-Bolt in.223,excellent rifle, well worth the money.but have decided, as i've got about a 4 month wait for my variation to go through on an X-Bolt,so saving like mad for it. Hoping to sell my Hatsan Escort 7+1 (FAC shotgun) to help pay for it. Alan

cometa24/7
Another vote for the A bolt
matone
Got to say the mauser actioned Parker Hales (not the Midland models!) are usually superbly accurate rifles with good triggers. Good buys for anyone on a tight budget !!!!!!
Colster
I'd go for the A-Bolt, in fact I did! I have one in .243 and it's a cracking rifle. Well balanced and fairly light, good trigger and having the combination of a 4 shot box mag and a floor plate is a real bonus.
Glensman
What is the advantage of the x-bolt over the a-bolt?
Colster
What is the advantage of the x-bolt over the a-bolt? iirc the bolt can be removed while the safety is on... think that's it tbh
Archie-fox
I've got a a-bolt in .223 best rifle I have ever had....light, accurate..and fits me like a glove..

Like, I would want that capability- but wouldn't expect to pay more for it.
Hornet 6
X-Bolt, yes you can unload with the safety on, has drop out mag and a better trigger, and for the synthetic versions a stiffer stock. Neil.

Neil. No floor plate on the X-Bolt? I think one of the best things about the A-Bolt is the combination of box mag and floor plate, if they abandoned it on the X-Bolt, I'd rather have the A anyday. I'm quite fussy about triggers but the one on my A-Bolt I was more than happy with, never felt the need to tweak it.
