I looked at the A-Bolt in.223,excellent rifle, well worth the money.but have decided, as i've got about a 4 month wait for my variation to go through on an X-Bolt,so saving like mad for it.

Hoping to sell my Hatsan Escort 7+1 (FAC shotgun) to help pay for it.

X-Bolt, yes you can unload with the safety on, has drop out mag and a better trigger, and for the synthetic versions a stiffer stock.

Neil. :)

No floor plate on the X-Bolt? I think one of the best things about the A-Bolt is the combination of box mag and floor plate, if they abandoned it on the X-Bolt, I'd rather have the A anyday.

I'm quite fussy about triggers but the one on my A-Bolt I was more than happy with, never felt the need to tweak it.
