woodcock1
I used to get Diana 28g 6.5 from mc Cloy's. That was a couple of years ago though. I absolutely loved them for decoyed pigeons to 40 yds. I doubt their effectiveness though for walked up pheasant ie. going away targets more due to the 1oz load as opposed to being 6.5. If I had to pick one cartridge to cover duck pheasant partridge woodcock snipe etc it would have to be 32g of no7 every time. Though I now shoot all my woodcock and pheasant with 7.5s
inthedark
I use 5's a lot, cos they kill outright.
dodeer
The old Rottweil mark II's were proven game getters around the country in a 2.5mm size. I used a lot of them and found them very good. Nowdays I use Hull Sovereign 6.5's a lot and find them excellent upto 35yards or so... ollie
I use 5's a lot, cos they kill outright. The original poster is talking about rough shooting; wouldn't like to be shooting snipe or a woodcock with a

ollie
MB I went and got those 6 1/2's tonight. They are actually American 7 1/2's which translate to UK 6 1/2's. They worked out at £4.50 a box which is good considering other prices at the moment. I will report back with how I get on with them.
aussie black duck
Hmmmm, my shot comparison charts tell me that US #7-1/2 equals UK #7 US #7.5 = 0.095" diam. = 2.41mm UK # 7 = 0.095" diam. = 2.41mm US # 7 = 0.1" diam. = 2.54mm UK # 6 = 0.1" diam = 2.54mm Most Euro (and now Aussie) manufacturers now use the US shot sizes (in our market at least) I guess that would make US #6.5 = 0.975" = 2.4765mm ?? Just shoot it.
