shotgun sam
I was given a AYA Cosmos 410 single barrel last night for my son I have 2 questions about it Firstly what length of cartridges does it take there is reference to 300kg. Secondly there is no visible part on the fore end to take it apart can anyone describe how it is done. Thanks Sam
kent
Pull the forend downwards and back with the gun closed, they are on a spring clip, very easy though a bit different having no catch. Don't know if it dont say on it then off to a proper smith to have a look, i say a proper smith coz some joker no nothing RFD "gun seller" told a mate he could use 3 1/2" shells in his 3" webley. It will be fine with 2 1/2" though for now

ChrisAsh
Get a bit of Dowel the same size as a 410 cartridge and insert it into the breach end and measure how far it coes in to the forcing cone, This will tell you the length available but remember solid dowel to be right size not undersize which would slip into forcing cone and second make allowance for crimp area.i.e. fired shell is longer than unfired shell May not be text book but should tell you and also marks on barrel Edited November 18, 2011 by ChrisAsh
duttonv8
Just to add to the last post that if you decide to try and measure the length to the cones remember that a 3 inch cartridge is longer than 3 inches when it is fired. tom

welshwarrior
Is it? I thought the stated cartridge length was when it was fired? It is a 3 inch shell is short than 3 inches unfired when you fire it the crimp is blown out to make the case 3 inches long but not longer. shotgun sam
It has been confirmed that it is a 3 inch chamber I had my son out with it yesterday the wee gun shoots very well. Stuart will never be a good shot but He enjoyed every minute of yesterday afternoon and is looking forward to next weekend. Humperdingle if you see either plug or stinkfoot ask them to show you the video of Stuart at the gun club. Sam
Paul223
It is a 3 inch shell is short than 3 inches unfired when you fire it the crimp is blown out to make the case 3 inches long but not longer. is correct, shell length is fired, unfired shells are shorter and can differ in length depending on type (crimp / roll).
