I haven't shot a hushpower before but understand that they are really quiet.

I can understand about the horses - some are good with noises some not.

Thats good that you got a permission though. Im still struggling, and my brother (big hit) on here is looking too.

Did you go to the Kent clay shoot? or dont you shoot clays?

I have permission at a 12 acre horse paddock and the owner lets me use an air rifle all year round but not live fire. Her horses are somewhere else until may therefore I can use the shottie until they come back. Have looked at the hush powers but know nothing about them. Are they really quiet? One of her horses is a professional show jumper so she is very careful with it which I understand. Plus being 12 acres it's small and although full of rabbits as soon as you fire the first shot be it air or shotgun the field is clear so would have to be near silent to be effective.

a .410 hushpower is really quite and some people do use them on horse paddocks, you can be in one half of the paddock and the horses are in the other half and must lightly they wont hear it.

Yeah it's a nightmare looking I have knocked on well over 30 farms and golf courses all no! These horses don't like noise at all, especially the show jumper can be quite skittish. I have been clay shooting and will again did quite well the times I have been, but no I didn't go to the Kent shoot, definitely will the next one be good to meet up with like minders.

How long have you 2 been looking for then.

Called the Firearms department today to check progress and wished I hadn't, when I phoned on the 5th they said they were working on the 10th Octobers application and mine would be another month, when we called today they are still working on October so as mine was filed in the last few days of November I guess I have another month. Does anyone know how the system works? Do they only do 1 a day? I can't imagine they get that many applications through daily. And most importantly is there an extra fee you can pay to fast track it? The FO said it would only be a few weeks, which I thought was optimistic but now I'm looking at 3-4 months!

i was told that they would likely take 3 months. but as for fees thats what the £50, or £40 for renewal is paid for the service, if this was any other service you pay for like passports, it would be done by now and I was also told that it would take that time because the office is short staffed, which I believe police forces were told not to do, when it comes to cutbacks don't take it from the firearms department.

Yeah thought as much, unbelievable that it takes so long my shotgun is trying to burn a hole through the safe into my hands. You would think of all the places to to make cuts that the firearms dept would be up there. Never mind absence makes the heart grow fonder.

I know how you feel, my brother has my O/U in cornwall with him till my license comes through and southeastpete has a Semi-auto Hatsan im waiting to take ownership of as well. just wish it hurrys up!!!

Hello Dan, I,m in High Halstow.

FC

I shoot on your doorstep, metaphorically.

I called at the start of January and was told they are working on September 7th! Very slow process so it could be another couple of months yet as I had my interview on December 5th.

Apparently the Kent team had 15 office staff, cut to 5 .
