In my area of N Norfolk the wood pigeons have yet to really start on rape in any numbers. I have seen one rape field being hit ( well outside my shooting area.) I have just been roost shooting , managed 14 and the birds were stuffed with acorns and wheat. I suspect the latter is from a pheasant feeder rather than from any stubbles.

This is the first time i have been pigeon shooting since August stubble shooting . Until now the oak woods I shoot in have been well leafed , but last weeks gale brought most of them down . I was surprised at the numbers I saw and shot like a fool. I guess using after using a semi\auto for wildfowling all autumn it will take a day or two to point my s\s in the right place.

Some fields in County Durham seem to have a few birds on the rape, however over the border in N.Yorks I have yet to see good numbers.

My last three outings have produces very little apart from crow's, they seem to be everywhere at the moment.
