Hi Folk's

I am looking for result's for 53gr V Max out of .223

The Hornady Site are say'n it's BC is .290 which is very good, and the write up's i have seen makes them out to be the dog's dangly bit's.

Have ordered a few boxes to reload and don't get them until next week, so any result's would be helpful.

I have tried 40gr,50gr,55gr,V Max and all very good just wondered about 53gr?

How does it give you 200fps?

Down range or at the muzzle?

Velocity Comparisons Hornady Superformance vs. conventional velocities

SUPERFORMANCE VELOCITIES (fps) CONVENTIONAL VELOCITIES (fps)

222 REM. SUPERFORMANCE 50GR VMAX 3345 222 Rem 50gr. 3110

-------------------------------------------- --------------------

223 REM. SUPERFORMANCE 53 GR VMAX 3465 223 Rem 55 gr. 3240

-------------------------------------------- --------------------

22-250 REM. SUPERFORMANCE 50 GR VMAX 4000 22-250 50 gr. 3800

243 WIN SUPERFORMANCE 58 GR VMAX 3945 243 Win 58 gr. 3750

Just going what Hornady site is say'n! that's why i was asking for result's hoping someone had run them through a crono

but going with how long and no comments look's like i will have to wait until i get the bullet's in next week and do it myself, soz i cannot help you mate, have a look at what Hornady are say'n

It's not the bullet that gives the extra fps it's their new powder they are using

The new 53gr vmax bullet has a high BC of .290 which will help buck the wind, less drop and more energy at target not increase fps

223 Remington at 3,465 feet per second pushing the "BRAND NEW, 53 gr V-MAX bullet" that has been optimized for peak performance from the 223 Remington chamber. This "new bullet" boasts an amazing .290 BC that enables this load to produce trajectory and wind drift equaling that of a conventional 22-250!

Cheer's for the reply.

You are confusing 2 seperate products.

The new superformance factory ammo with new improved powder launching the new 53gr vmax bullet at an extra 200fps

And

The new 53gr vmax bullet with a massive BC of .290

Check out Hornadays site and LOOK under new products and superformance and then 53gr vmax and you will see it all

Cheer's for that.

I should have not put in the "200fps" in my question.

I will Delete that part from my question, my mistake

It's result's on the "53gr V Max bullet" i am after, regarding BC of .290.

Thank You,

I never considered VV133 as I thought it too fast but it looks like a go to to load for a lot of folks shooting 40s. I have been shooting (and will be for a while w/8#s) AA2230 28gr. for 3880 when it's warm and around 3650 @ 0 F. some ball powders are temp sensitive. VV makes great powder but it is pricey over here.

Hi Timothy

It's pricey here to £90 x 1kg tub :w00t:

All powder's and even bullet's are becoming pricey.

Think they are try's to put us off shooting :D
