Dekers
do you have to use 3" carts in 3" chambers Not generally, neither do you have to use 3.5 either in 3.5" chambers, there are exceptions/problems with some shotguns though, our old friend the Hatsan comes readily to mind, use a short cart and you will get misfeeds. ciaran
No you don't have to, but a gun dealer told that you don't get the same sore of piff, as I was telling him I was looking for 3inch chambers for Geese, and he said it makes no difference. COACH
But try and use the 70mm cartridge as much as possible as it gives you better all round performance in a 3" chamber.

It is just that I had heard when you use say 70mm carts in a 3 inch chambered gun you don't seem to get the full whack out of it?..

Catweazle
I pattern tested 2.5" Supreme Game fibre carts in a 3.5" chamber and was surprised to see excellent patterns. Plenty of piff too.

COACH
Well thats rules out CompX then..... wondered why i could never hit anything with them You will probably only notice the difference if your an AA or possibly a A class shooter as the difference is so slight. Just made the comment to give a shooter every advantage possible really.

It is just that I had heard when you use say 70mm carts in a 3 inch chambered gun you don't seem to get the full whack out of it?.. would be like having longer forcing cones put in, reduces the felt recoil in the gun, it does work and you can feel the difference.
