Hunter
Yesterday, I had the fortune of being invited to shoot with Dunganick on one of his permissions. We started off a bit late, around 11am, and did the first walk. Not many bunnies about at the time.. So we then did a trip with the shotguns, and again had little luck as it was mid day (animals disapear untill around 3.30pm) and then we did a trip with the rimfires again. This time we hit 3 rabbits, which were carred back for skinning. As the day went on, we ended up with 16 rabbits, 1 fox, 2 crows, and a rat. The picture was taken at around 7pm, and we got the bag up to 15 on the last trip. Once we were back, I though I would just pop into the yard to have a look around, and I saw one bunny at (a lter pacd out) 89 meters. I rested the little Sako on my arm on the side of a fence post. Wobbly! and getting very dark, I slid the magnification up to its max, adjusted the focus, set the crss hairs 4 inches above the rabbits head and sent it a little first class delivery, RWS hollowpoint sub. A clean headshot exactly between te eyes, my furthest ever kill. was good to finish off a long day like that. Nick also came up with quite a few long range shots that I thought he would never get, but his stalking stick really did pay off. We both took 3 rabbits home for the freezer, and the rest have been left for the farmer. Good day!!
