i had another great morning with my friend and his big bores. this morning he was using his tolley 8 bore again and he had me using his purdey double 10 bore. what a privelage to use such a lovely gun. the geese did not play ball as well as the last morning we were out, however i did end up with two greylags. one was a lovely shot at geese passing tail to wind a fair bit up quickly followed by a spectacular miss with both barrels at a goose 30 yards out almost motionless in the wind, ha ha. for those of you interested the purdey was made in 1897 with steel barrels and 2 7\8" chambers. she went back to purdey in 1903 to be beautifully engraved (sorry you cant see the engraving in the photos). in 2006 she was re chambered and reproofed for 3 1\2" shells. for 114 years old the gun is in beautifull condition and comes up better than my browning. :good: :good: :good:
