Ant8681,

You have posted a lot of grey squirrel kills, and your location says you're in Cornwall. Are you anywhere near The Lizard or West Penwith? I'm asking because there is a red squirrel reintroduction project in the mentioned areas, which obviously involves the culling of grey squirrels, and I was wondering if you knew anything about it. If you don't, look at the Cornwall Red Squirrel Project website. Maybe your grey squirrel control effort could benefit some red squirrels someday?

Anyway, got another 2.

I feel very stongly about the culling of the greys and the reintroduction of the red, I am a fair way from the sites you mention but on my permission there is a huge effort to start doing the same in the hope that eventually the efforts in the west will be sucsessfull. I would really like to get involved in the project but am unsure how to do so.

I too got another one today but it was a bit strange

You've got your count a bit wrong there. The total stands at 1496.

If you hit the greys hard, you draw them in from other areas, so your control effort will benefit the reds once they are released as long as you keep at it.
