Dr_evil
That disco has been modified more than you would think, i reckon that has at least a 7 inch + lift, the shock mounts ETC would have been moved to allow for it, the wheel arches would need major mods and to fit a lift of that size would mean many many more mods that you can't see. and at the end of the day what its driving in is nothing special or challenging. 5 inch lift, extended bump stops and then the shock turrets are the same as standard, wheel arches are simply cut to allow for the travel for the wheel Thats it, wide angle prop and correct castor correction radius arms are the main bits you need to make any lifted landy work
ferguson_tom
a discovery wouldn't keep all wheels on the ground in the 1st pic and wouldn't manage angles in the second! The defender cant handle the angles either hence the strap round the post and chassis what is that for actually? Catweazle
I'll bet a decent of tyres covers the difference between Defender and Discovery off-road. Here's a short video with both, plus the P38, not much to choose between them in the conditions you are likely to encounter on your shoot. On road it's a whole different game, you can keep your Defenders http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixOCg2Xrkd0&feature=related
olim
Posing well actually because as you can see it was on the edge of rolling although it was supporting itself, the rope had slack in it, at the time i wish it was for posing. Yeah, and that fence post would catch it if it had tipped right?
