Si-Bore
Hi guys. Prob been done to death but where are u guys getting the magnet batteries from. My friend is after one. 12V 17ah ideally I'd think. That's what I have. Some seems much lighter than others in the sealed lead acid battery market. I had 2 which claimed to be the same but I had a preference for the one 2/3's of the weight if the other. Thanks Si
Redditch
I got two of a guy on here who has them quite often for sale. Excellent. Mine are 12 volt 22 ah, but he often has 17 ah and 14 ah too
goldeneye243
Bumping an old topic rather than starting another one - Just wondering where people get their magnet batteries from and what capacity you go for...

jamesneale89
Why don't you use car batteries? I use car batteries for magnets and these small batteries for flapper with timer , magnet could last 2 days on car battery and flapper 8 hours on 7amp , seems a bit daft to spend loads of money on these small batteries when people but 2 or 3 just ey a cheap used car battery from a breakers! I guess because not everyone has the luxury of being able to drive to their shooting spot , A car battery in a rucksack would be a tad heavy plus there is also the danger the acid could come out! The weight of a battery is a very good indicator of its lead content. In simple terms, the more lead a battery contains the longer its life will be. So the lighter battery is easier to carry, but the heavier one will have a longer life. webber
jamesneale89
Well get a 4x4 simples, and if your shooting stubbles then I'm sure your farmer will be more than happy for you to drive on there, why of you shoot a few hundred birds? Your knackered by foot!

Your knackered by foot! I think you will find its cheaper to buy a smaller battery than a 4x4 , and having shot 100s on numerous occasions since perhaps before you were born if the 89 on your user name refers to your date of birth I can assure you they can be carried back to a waiting van or car ,4x4s are by there nature expensive things to own and run and I would take a guess that there are more pigeon shooters without them than with . jamesneale89
It doesn't matter when I was born , I was brought up on an estate so since I was 13/14 I was driving 4x4s for shooting , just think its easier, ad I think most shooters who do it an awful lot own one , a lot recreational! Shooters have cars because there weekend jobbies and just set up on any given field they see birds on it rather than watching there flight lines for days at a time as selecting the right place , a car battery isn't even that heavy to carry to be honest , I'd rather have a car battery that'll go all day n night than to be having a good day up until a lil battery dies , this is pointless argument anyway all I said wwas bout havin a 4x4 and a car battery
