My first Disco I sold at 274.000 miles, the current one has around 230,000 on it, no gearbox issues with either, ever. margun Posted January 19, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 19, 2012 So a quick update: after all this, I ended up going for a 2005 Passat estate 1.9tdi Highline, manual. I searched and searched, and came to the conclusion that I could get basically the same car for much less money (~£1500), with better mileage/service history and with more toys (leather/heated seats, 6disc changer etc). Really happy with it, it's in great condition and returns a real world 51mpg! :blink: Much better than the 20mpg I was getting from the old Cherokee..... Many thanks for all your advice guys!
