anser2
As yet the pigeons have yet to start feeding on rape on my farms in Norfolk. I have managed a few in the past month in the woods. Most have had berries , beech mast or acorns , but almost all have a lot of undressed wheat or barley in their crops. With no drilling going on at this time of year I can only think they are getting this from game bird feeders. While I have not witnessed this in any numbers , I have watched a few pigeons knocking the springs under the feeders and feeding on the falling grain. clakk
i can see a small flock 20 to 30 birds feeding in my neighbours garden.theyve been feeding happily on their bird tables for 2 months now and roosting on their roof.cheeky beggars and it doesnt look like theyre moving anytime soon, but i dont think they wont me blowing holes in their roof to get at them, shame even i could hit pigeons 30 feet away.
M.I.A
I've seen a good few on the feeders at one of my perms, they're situated in the corner of rape fields :o

Blackpowder
Just cleaned a pigeon shot leaving one of our woodland feeders, we feed wheat and a little maize. This bird had a crop full of clean outs unlike the muddy grains you find when they are cleaning up on stubbles. Mystery! Blackpowder
Beretta28g
Game feeders provide good air rifle sport for pigeons this time of year
