I think things will be the same as normal, and as the weeks go on bags will improve. All the time the pigeons have spent in the woods, they are more than making up for now and hitting the rape hard. There'll be plenty of eaten patches to keep an eye on in March/April.

Most of the pigeons down our way are still on acorn...they haven't rotted away yet and a lot of pigeons I shoot have them in their crops,I had 18 on the rape the other day until rain stopped play! And nearly half of them had acorns In,yesterday when we went out we went into one of our woods and about 200 took out of which a good 50 was on the floor under the oak trees. Until the acorns are completely gone they won't start getting on the rape really hard.

Been very quiet over my permissions and club grounds.

been quiet all round , i havent even set up on rape this winter, normally spoilt for choice on what field of rape to set up on because theres pigeons on most if not all. only pigeons i have shot have been roost shooting.

over the last few weeks they have started hitting the rape here, went out a few weeks ago for 22. have not been out after that. still the odd 20-50 on the trees in the woods eating acorns or ivy berrys. went out for a look today saw 1000+ hitting the rape on one of the fields has game shooting on so cant get at it yet. another permisson has 1000+ also, think my mate will shoot saturday while i am game shooting. hope its not the same old thing with shot and they all go but we will see. as for march i find they are on so much its hard to get on them. clover, early drillings, large rape blocks and buds on trees. as said before with this weather as it is i dont know. might snow in march
