ayano3
Guns & Tackle in Whapolde (Between Holbeach & Spalding) have some Eley First 28g 7 1/2s at £37.50 for 250 (£75 for 500) on offer. The Gamebore Clear Pigeons are now £47.75 for 250. Partridge Guns & country store 5 miles up the road were £5.65 for a box of the same Gamebore Clear Pigeon !!!! apache
£145/thousand from Kelbrook. Just wish I could like them. Too dirty for my liking.
Salop Matt
I prefer the eley first that am using now over the hull cartridges i had from doveridge ! Can't fault them really !
cant hit rabbits 123
I like Eley Firsts over everything else for clays. Good performance, not the dirtiest shell I've used and they aren't too punchy. My favorite cartridge for clays.
ayano3
I have used Eley's for ages now and use them for all pigeon shooting. Never noticed if they were dirty as only ever use them so nothing to compare against. And they eject fine from my 3 1/2" auto with no problems. chris o
Eley firsts are my favourites I use them on clays, pigeons, crows and rabbit very fast hard hitting. 75 quid for 500 is brill. I pay about 40 for 250 from R sephton and sons in rufford but I might get them cheaper from john besicks in prescot.
dan-250
I like them but he had none left when I went to buy some more, ended up with hull comp x as they was roughly same price, give about £4 over a 1000 and I find these quite good shells. Ive also got some plastic wad rio target 20, there not bad carts but really are filthy, dirtiest carts I've had.

Yup its called a fibre wad ! I'd be a lot more concerned if the wad didn't come out of the gun when firing Seriously though as someone that hardly ever shoots at a plastic wad permitted ground I only buy fibre these days. I have pattern plated eley fibre wads and they certainly pattern fine . the Eley "kleana" wads do sometimes very visibly disintegrate in mid air, particularly if shooting in windy conditions. Is this a bad thing though ? given that they patern fine, if the wad falls to earth in paper thin slices surely it will biodegrade quicker? landyboy
eley first plastics 28g are good cartridges full stop and at less than 150 a thou good value in todays market ! cant comment on the fibres as not used them !
Wharf Rat
I miss with Firsts just as well as any other cartridge They are cheap, and the black confetti effect lets you pretend that you are using a muzzle loader...
