nevb
hi was just wondering whats a resonable price range for a light weight diesel landy tax exempt That all depends on one thing..........condition..., you may pick a project up for £500 (series tax exempt Landies will fetch £300 just for the log book, in any condition)but it will want a serious amount of work,a good example will command £5k+. UK models only came in petrol, I may be right in thinking later Dutch ones had a diesel motor? but were LHD..so any RHD lightweight with a diesel motor will be a retrofit. If you are handy with the spanners get a petrol and do the swap yourself...loads of different engine conversions out there, my own has a 200di (200tdi with the turbo removed)and is a great swap both for power and weight. But don't expect anything to do with good tax exempt lightweights to be cheap... fruitloop
just got one a tax exempt with the 200di good chassis no rot on bulk head for £2800 is that about right http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150747458665?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Edited February 6, 2012 by fruitloop

nevb
nice landy That looks sound,a very good buy, but its not a 1963 Lightweight..Landrover did not start making lightweights til 1968! cracking motor the 200di, more than enough power for a series gearbox/chassis,overdrive as well..all good, best of luck with her... keg
Looks in excellent nick!, only question i have was looking at the ebay advert, the seller mentioned a 200tdi non turbo???. if it's a 200tdi it should have a turbo
ferguson_tom
I think to get them in the series you remove the turbo but keep everything else.
fruitloop
its th 200tdi without the turbo or intercooler as with it puts out to much and busts the seres gear box wich makes it a 200 di Edited February 17, 2012 by fruitloop
