gixer1
The SAK is a common one and seems to do the job well, not too expensive either and can be taken apart for cleaning. Regards, Gixer

Amexian
For a .22lr the lightest, cheapest and most effective moderator you'll find will be a good old Parker Hale MM1. Cheap as chips and weighing only six ounces they are rated for air rifle and rimfire. The last one I bought, my RFD fished it out of a box of bits and let me have it for a fiver. Shooting subs all I hear is the bolt spring followed by the round impacting the rabbit.
Beardo
Parker Hale for me on 22lr, slim and works very well
bullet boy
The SAK is good enough.I use my SAK mods on both my .22LR and .17HMR.
bicykillgaz
My sako isn't the shortest but is bloody quiet, lightweight and can be stripped and only cost £

bedwards1966
I have a Parker Hale, it can be stripped (though not good to do, it is possible). Using subsonic rounds all I hear is the click of the bolt and then the sound of the round impacting.
Dekers
My sako isn't the shortest but is bloody quiet, lightweight and can be stripped and only cost £30 I had a Sako on my last WMR, but is was well worn so I let it go with the rifle. Where do you get one for £30, I've not seen them for ages. They are longer than the SAK, but not as wide, if I could find one at £30 I'd invest in one! kent
I have a Parker Hale, it can be stripped (though not good to do, it is possible). Using subsonic rounds all I hear is the click of the bolt and then the sound of the round impacting. and another here mines as old of the hills, totally seized up in the baffle stack which also show some distortion. i get a lot of comments on how quiet it is from other shooters
Beardo
Funny same with min Kent,, the baffle stack must have been clipped at one point as the holes are a bit egg shaped. It's quieter than anything else I've tried!
bicykillgaz
Hi dekers to be fair that price is nearly 3 years old so could probably add £10 to that, still worth it though its the best .22lr mod I've owned or heard so far. Im trying to get a new set of insides made at work for mine out of stainless not that there is anything wrong with mine. I got it from forest lodge guns at wragby lincolnshire might be worth trying them if you really want one, i would highly recommend one.
