I use a mini mag lite in the top barrel. Cheap.

Hi, I have a single barrel AYA Cosmos 410, lovely gun but the forend keeps dropping off when I open the breech. The mechanism seems to be just a catch and a small wire spring. Could the spring have become too weak or has some other part worn? If anyone has experienced this problem or can offer any advice I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.

24 gram options/recommendations for sporting clays?

I use either Gamebore XLR or Gamebore Blue Diamond. Both are excellent - well priced and really comfortable to use. -
Full BASC membership will cover you for everything, plus you get all of their services. £66.

I use Hawke mounts. http://www.ronniesunshines.com/index.php/hawke-rifle-rimfire-double-screw-30mm-scope-mounts-high.html

Seems to me that you're fitting a £200+ scope to a set of £10.99 rings whose manufacturing accuracy is probably reflected in their price. I'd recommend investing £30 odd in something fit for purpose and make the problem go away.

Harris swivel. Nuff said.

For a .22lr the lightest, cheapest and most effective moderator you'll find will be a good old Parker Hale MM1. Cheap as chips and weighing only six ounces they are rated for air rifle and rimfire. The last one I bought, my RFD fished it out of a box of bits and let me have it for a fiver. Shooting subs all I hear is the bolt spring followed by the round impacting the rabbit.

Try this: http://www.shootingtimes.co.uk/guns/369774/Ten_of_the_best_17HMR_moderators.html I used to use the Ase Utra on my HMR - good mod.

Should have gone to Specsavers.

Has anyone any experience of Birchwood Casey Barricade cloths? I used one recently to wipe the gun down, seems to leave a nice film on the metal. They claim to prevent rust, displace moisture and lubricate. Are they a good old oily cloth in disguise?
