il cacciatore
Your not going to lose money at reloading. Its a hobby. Remmember that semi autos in most cases wont take reloads, theyll just jam.

wacker
thinking of loading my own shotgun shells wheres the best and cheap to buy. Google clay & game, they sell everything you'll ever need. Was thinking of doing the same thing myself, it would be good if there was a course of some sort that you could go to, to learn about it. il cacciatore
You just need to read up on firearms ballistics.
nuttyspaniel
Mossy try Ebay USA for a mec jnr and other bits and bobs. There are also some good shops in the states which will happily supply us in the UK with bits and bobs. Also give Robert at Field and Forces a ring he is trying to bring the cost of re-loading down by bringing in from the states and noy being too greedy. Field and Forces has a web site as does Bucks run and ballistic products in the states. If you want more info p.m. me and I'll try to help as much as I can. cheers nutty
the last engineer
the best reloader i have found for 12 gauge is the Ponsness Warren, i have a 800B, dont use it much now but ran it well for a period of time, Mossy the only advantage i think you'll find is customising loads to your preference, be they hunting loads or target, cost wise its marginal as to how many componenetsyou buy and the deal you get, me i quit loading as the discount i get with the volume of case's exceeds its worth, dont forget when you enter the worlds of home loads , the biggest factor is "YOUR TIME" nobody cost's themeselves into the equation, your time is as expensive as your daily rate plus o/time, you've finished work remember, loading shells can be very rewarding for some, mind bogglingly boring (listening to her indoors for 3 hours) most of the guys i know who reload do so for hunting, after finding a formula that works they stick to it religeously here's a link to the site for you anyway. http://www.reloaders.com/ Martin
M ROBSON
Remmember that semi autos in most cases wont take reloads, theyll just jam. Not if you make them propperly. I fired nothing but reloads through my Xtrema last season (hundereds of 'em) and never had a single jam! I have a MEC Steelmaster, bought it from Bucksrun in the states along with 20lbs of Hevishot, cases, wads...etc. Even after shipping, import taxes and handling fees it still worked out 30% cheaper than from Clay and Game! I'd look at Ebay USA first though. Cheers, Mark.

il cacciatore
I fired nothing but reloads through my Xtrema last season (hundereds of 'em) and never had a single jam! I always assumed this but couldnt prove it. I've already been saving my empties, might start it if I get some money. When I get the .223 I'm definitely doing it but thats another story. Country_est
Mossy, How "south West are you", I live in Basingstoke and have been thinking about this one for a couple of months, but have not yet come to a full decision as I will mianly be wanting to load 3 1/2" shells for my wildfowling both goose and duck + a few 2 3/4" shells, again non toxic for my game gun on normal shoot days when not realy expecting to have to use the auto. Would be interested in your findings or even a share / helping out if not too far west. Trev
