Insurance (liability etc)

I think it does depend a little on what sort of shooting you do?

Joining an organisation such as BASC is probably the best way forward as this gives you insurance and other membership benefits such as help and advice, which can be very useful if you have difficulties e.g. with the police, legal questions and general support.

I think you can also just buy the insurance without becoming a member, but I'd say it best to spend a little extra to be a member.

BASC.

Fortunatly I have never had to use the insurance but it is always good to know that they will help you with any shooting matters. I have in the past contacted various people at the Scottish office via email and everyone was very helpfull. And has already been mentioned being a member has other benefits discounts at various outlets etc.

Most clay shooting grounds will have a libility insurance which is to cover the shooting ground not the indivdual so some may require the indivdual to have there own insurance

If you have been already been shooting you should already have had some insurance cover and the BASC insurance also covers other types of country sports.
