Right i have made a decision, based on info from here and if I am brutally honest what came up

I am going for the Sako as it kills 2 birds with one stone

it is the hunter pro model with a good sight and mod 2 barrels .17HMR and .22. 6 mags 3 for each and a decent mod it has some lovely walnut so all that for £750 I am quite happy

It's up to you whatever you buy mate but personally my advice is to get two different rifles-a .22LR and a .17HMR.Your paying £750 for a Quad when as "Swiss Tony" on here has said and I have to agree with him saying you'll get fed up with zeroing your rifle time after time when changing barrels!

You could get two nice CZ's for the price of one Quad without the hassle of swapping barrels. That's my thought on it that's all,but whatever you choose all the best from me anyway.

sadly i dont have enough time to do both and using a pulsar it has one shot zeroing (in theory :)

It is only a theory I'm afraid. There's no way I'd want to be swapping barrels and changing from NV to dayscope and rezeroing twice a day. Life's too short and ammo too expensive.

CZ 452 16" Varmint screw cut in 17HMR and 22LR, Very accurate! Neck shot on rabbit at 130yd last sat with 17HMR!! I love mine!! got sak mod(which are fine for the money) £30 and bushnell banner 3-18x50 30/30 £118 on sportmanguncentre.com atm. Very clear for money

Got both rifles at the same time £750 for both (22lr was new and 17HMR was s/h)

U will get annoyed re-zeroing everytime u change barrel!

Good advice there.

I say the same-get two rifles for the price of one!I do hope Jolly gets on with his Quad if he buys one but hope he don't regret it in the long run especially in changing barrels and re-zeroing every time.

If you go for the CZ455 you can get that in .17HMR and .22lr. Buy one and then get the spare barrel. I should imagine you could get the whole lot for much less than £750.00. I've got the CZ455 Thumbhole in .22lr and it's a lovely rifle. With the extra barrel I should imagine you could get both for under £600.

Flippen ek, is that what they are now, for a rimfire mod!?

They are not that good!

NO way would I spend that over a SAK, the difference is tiny and the DM is still bigger and heavier, just don't see it, but hey, some do!:good:

I'm the same as you mate.As I previously said there's nothing wrong with a SAK!I use this mod on my FAC Rapid,my .22LR and .17HMR.For around the £35 mark they are very good value for money IMO.

Exactly! £160+ for a rimfire mod! . Nah you're better off sticking with a SAK and putting the remaining £125 towards a quality scope IMO. There is no way on this earth that i could justify another £125 for a possible slight reduction in decibels at the muzzle and no difference at all in the supersonic crack. Jackson rifles give a fantastic warranty with the SAK and will even repair and recondition your SAK mod at a fraction of the cost of a new one, which is only £35 anyway.

Whatever rocks your boat though and each and everyone to their own :good:

Pat

how many rounds can you put though a sak before its burnt out with a 17?

Good question mate and a one it would be hard to give an accurate answer to. But look at it this way. If your SAK burnt out from use on a 17HMR say after 1000 rnds. Send it back to Jackson rifles and they will refurbish it for around £16 and away you go for another 1000 rnds. Now thats a lot of shooting for an initial cost of around £35  . The SAK does a job more than adequately.

Good value for money IMO. :good:

Pat
