Katzenjammer
Why? Whats wrong with a SAK mod. Can you elaborate ATB, Pat cheap tat mate, cheap tat
Jolly
Right i have made a decision, based on info from here and if I am brutally honest what came up I am going for the Sako as it kills 2 birds with one stone it is the hunter pro model with a good sight and mod 2 barrels .17HMR and .22. 6 mags 3 for each and a decent mod it has some lovely walnut so all that for £750 I am quite happy
pat g
cheap tat mate, cheap tat So is that why you have a SAK Steve. You being tighter than a Cammel's wotsit in a sand storm ATB, Pat

You could get two nice CZ's for the price of one Quad without the hassle of swapping barrels. That's my thought on it that's all,but whatever you choose all the best from me anyway. Gimlet
sadly i dont have enough time to do both and using a pulsar it has one shot zeroing (in theory It is only a theory I'm afraid. There's no way I'd want to be swapping barrels and changing from NV to dayscope and rezeroing twice a day. Life's too short and ammo too expensive. I say the same-get two rifles for the price of one!I do hope Jolly gets on with his Quad if he buys one but hope he don't regret it in the long run especially in changing barrels and re-zeroing every time. Beardo
the Quads are lovely guns - much nicer triggers etc. - but everyone i know who has one, gave up on the second barrel idea after a while and sold them, just sticking to one. Uncle Albert
If you go for the CZ455 you can get that in .17HMR and .22lr. Buy one and then get the spare barrel. I should imagine you could get the whole lot for much less than £750.00. I've got the CZ455 Thumbhole in .22lr and it's a lovely rifle. With the extra barrel I should imagine you could get both for under £600.

Dekers
£80+more like £160+ i have a DM80 on my ansultz 1517 great sound moderator i like it you get what you pay for but each to there own Flippen ek, is that what they are now, for a rimfire mod!? They are not that good! NO way would I spend that over a SAK, the difference is tiny and the DM is still bigger and heavier, just don't see it, but hey, some do! I'm the same as you mate.As I previously said there's nothing wrong with a SAK!I use this mod on my FAC Rapid,my .22LR and .17HMR.For around the £35 mark they are very good value for money IMO. Exactly! £160+ for a rimfire mod! . Nah you're better off sticking with a SAK and putting the remaining £125 towards a quality scope IMO. There is no way on this earth that i could justify another £125 for a possible slight reduction in decibels at the muzzle and no difference at all in the supersonic crack. Jackson rifles give a fantastic warranty with the SAK and will even repair and recondition your SAK mod at a fraction of the cost of a new one, which is only £35 anyway. Whatever rocks your boat though and each and everyone to their own ATB, Pat
johnny
how many rounds can you put though a sak before its burnt out with a 17?
pat g
how many rounds can you put though a sak before its burnt out with a 17? Good question mate and a one it would be hard to give an accurate answer to. But look at it this way. If your SAK burnt out from use on a 17HMR say after 1000 rnds. Send it back to Jackson rifles and they will refurbish it for around £16 and away you go for another 1000 rnds. Now thats a lot of shooting for an initial cost of around £35 . The SAK does a job more than adequately. Good value for money IMO. ATB, Pat
