Can you see…..bang, oh I guess you could!

Recommended Posts

With a full moon and a clear sky, the elements were some what against us, but seeing dozens of new born lambs curled up on the straw looking like a tasty treat for any hungry fox to take a lump out of, pushed us to take a few more drives around the farm.

2 sets of eyes in a far hedge and a couple of blinks on the edge of the wood near the lambing sheds were all we saw.

I wanted to have a last look from a different direction, one flick of the hand lamp and there it was, all I could see was a set of eyes through the trees and the only rest was a set of tines on the fork lift. The only way I could get a solid rest was jamb the bi pod on one tine and wedge my back against the second, at last the scope was still……..whack and the lights went out.

He had a nice leaf bed and never left it….

Paced it back to the fork lift 125 yds with the night Shepard who was watching from his tea hut!!

Me thinking that too.

Confirmation was given from me 10 yds to the left from the JCB making sure that it was Carlie. A shot from my angle was a no go due to the fact that there was no dead rest and a bipod would be to low. It was a cracking shot!! When we walk over to the fox i could see why only the eyes was seen from the shooters rest. A fallen tree was obstructing its lower 3/4's and Tim shot it through the V of the tree.
