Guest cookoff013
funny subject, if you shoot a printer cartridge fast enough it will be able to penetrate rabbits and pigeons. but alittle too expensive. i like low recoil cartridges too. i reload subsonics. but if you were in the market for a nice load look at... http://www.hullcartridge.co.uk/products/game/three_crowns_12.cfm http://www.gamebore.com/page.php?id1=2&id2=4 http://www.lyalvaleexpress.com/special-game-fibre-25-grams hushpower 32g #5 or a 2" game version from eley. saying that, now i prettymuch reload for everything that i do. a nice soft cartridge. i get the good use out of my sxs without beating me up. so stick to the traditional game loads or subsonics. they are the soft loads. i hope this has helped you. looking at the price of some of these. it is going to hit the wallet. vampire
Through the sxs i use 28g 7 1/2 for pigeons but not much range for a clean kill, keep em close and they give plenty of spread, semi i use 30 6s for pigeon and rabbit, both at half and 3/4 choke for roost shooting
Al69ec
I've been using 28g 7's and 32g 6's over decoys 7 in top and 6 in bottom. My o/u seems to really like the taste of the game bore clear pigeons and they seem to work for me so I'll keep feeding them to it! :-) :-)

BRAD1927
I use 30/32gm 5/6 whatever is cheapest as said previously 7.5's will do the job but short range. I personally wouldn't use anything less than a 6 for either animal. Try 28g 6's eley VIP not to hard on the shoulder and reasonably priced at around £5.50 a box if bought by the 1000. Hope this helps
