I shot like a girl

Went out on the pigeons today and I was really looking forward to it.

The grandson chose the spot, laid out the decoys, sited the hide and we were ready to go.

Immediatley the birds started to come in, and went away again minus a few feathers and plus a bit of lead  .

The annoying thing is that I hit the hard birds and they came down, the easy birds I just could not hit :hmm: .

I came away after 3 hours with 15 picked 5 not picked, and about 30 that should have come down but due to my bad shooting did not.

I left the field in the capable hands of Philr, and hope that he has a better day than me.

At the time of going to print, I do not know how young Phil has done.

I will go back on Wednesday and have another go, and hope that I do the job properly.

bakerboy or should it read "bakergirl"?

Ha! I was on the clay ones on sat with the new gun. For most of the time it was like I was firing blanks!!

about 10/50!!

I blame it on being a new gun!

Combined age of gun and shooter "84" cannot blame the gun (the shooter is oldest)

That's how it goes sometimes Terry!

As long as the little man enjoyed the day, that's what counts. Did he hit any?

Hi Cosd, Tim had a couple of pricked (have to be careful what I say with the other thread going)  pigeons with the air rifle so he is a happy boy.

There is a picture of him on "a couple of hours with bakerboy"

Phil shot a further 18, and said he should have had a lot more.

This has always been a very productive 50 acres.

Last year we had about 1000 birds off it.
