Magnet problem

Has anyone had a problem with the arms of their rotary/magnet ? I had to pack up minutes after arriving this morning as one of the arms cannot be pulled out as the paint has caught on the inside and refuses to pull through,it must be just peeling back and catching the exit hole.

Any ideas how to get it out :good:

The paint has gone brittle and flakes off in the hole and therefore jams the rod, when I apply wd 40 it doesn`t help much with the painted section as it still flakes and jams in the hole.

You could try heating it up locally with a small blowtorch and then yanking it, oh er missuis! lol

why did you not stay and just use the rotor with one arm, not ideal but better than going home, anything was better than going home.

you could have pretended you did not have a rotor, better than going home. what did we do before rotors, improvice its better than going home. :good:

Magnet with one arm? Would be out of balance and come out the ground!

out of balance, maybe. come out of ground, its hard getting them in right now, but once in mine dont come out, 1 or 2 arms. i think henry was missing the mrs.

Last time out no speed controler for magnet = magnet off.

no speed controler= no magnet. why please.

Just way too fast, or so we thought, we didn't have enough interest to properly confirm this but wizzing around like it was at 90mph it looked to be spooking things?

I`ve managed to sort it on a temporary basis.I dabbed some paint stripper into the exit hole and when it removed the paint I cleaned it as best I could, sprayed wd40 inside and hammered a 10mm steel rod up the opposite end :good:

I`m going to have to leave it fully out for the time being, but will attend to it in due course :good:

Yes they do go out of balance. I broken an arm on a magnet last year and had to keep re-siting the magnet

I still did its job and pulled in the pigeons
