bedwards1966
Yes you can, as long as you can provide 'good reason' for needing two. A common reason would be to have one set up for night-vision.
DaveK
I put in a variation for a second .22 last week for a night vision specific rifle. It cam back granted no problems. Lorraine has two for exactly the same reason. No quibbles from FLM.

Cheers sx3 When I was in process of applying for my FAC I was strongly advised not to specify bolt / semi but just go for .22LR and deal with questions like "why do you need 2 x .22LR rifles?" by explaining about needing one for hunting, one for target, or for night sight etc. at interview - leaves your choice of rifle a bit more flexible. That's fair enough if your Firearms Office will accept that but with Lancashire I was told that I HAD TO SPECIFY either Bolt Action, Semi Automatic of Pump Action and that just .22LR was not acceptable. Once again this just goes to show that so many different areas have completely different ways of working, but I agree that if you were allowed to put down just .22LR Rifle (Without having to specify the type of action at the time of application) it would be much easier to make the decision when the "time to buy" came round. Livefast123
I'll be applying for another .22LR when I get my full club membership, one for hunting with bipod, light etc on and one for target shooting. Hopefully this shouldn't cause any issues! With Avon and Somerset I just put down .22LR and ended up with .22RF........maybe I will get that WMR

Hopefully this shouldn't cause any issues! It shouldn't, I have a bolt action for Vermin (and range work) and another 22 slot for semi auto for mini rifle . TaxiDriver
When I asked Essex for 2x 22lr as I wanted one dedicated for night vision set up I was told that wasn't sufficient reason I didn't however have to specify the action type
Paddy Galore!
i had 4 on my ticket until last year,1 b/a for vermin, a backup incase of breakdown, a semi, and a target rifle.
Vince Green
There is little logic in restricting you. If you are safe to own one you are safe to own two.

JonathanL
Yes you can, as long as you can provide 'good reason' for needing two. A common reason would be to have one set up for night-vision. To be very pedantic here (sorry), it's not the case that you need to show good reason to possess two but, rather; you need to show 'good reason' for each firearm you wish to acquire. A subtle difference but an important one. J.

As you say, yet another example of different forces making their own rules up as they go!
