bedwards1966
Very rarely, perhaps annually at most, I'd only really bother if you don't think it's working as effectively as it used to.
Sharpshooter.123
Simple answer DON'T! I had this very conversation with VAMPIRE while out the other night. I cleaned my mod and it was a hell of alot louder than normal!! Needs a few rounds to make it as quiet as it was again!
Rimfireboy
If you don't clean it, don't leave it on the gun. If its left stood in the cabinet all the bits of unburnt powder will drop down the barrel and into the breech and firing pin and gunge it all up. Also can corrode the muzzle. Funny.......but after some 10 years of the rifle being stood up in the cabinet with the old Parker-Hale mod' on it I haven't noticed anything like that at all. True you do get a bit of a crust around the muzzle rim, but that wipes off with an oily rag. Mind you, I don't leave the bolt in the rifle either, so maybe all that crud is falling onto the cabinet floor. G.M. Elmer Fudd 1
if you have ever read the box your ammo came in you should see some warnings about reproductive harm and infertility risk along with a whole list of other things that you can get from firing in enclosed areas,if you have ever smelt the inside of you sound moderator you will smell that powder residue (if you havent,THEN DONT)opening the mod up will leave you exposed to that toxic powder, so its your choice. just bear this in mind

If you shoot reduced loads like cb longs or their ilk it will happen. If you leave the bolt in of course. It's happened to me, that's how I know.
