hoggysreels
Raiders are top notch boats mate ... very good sea worthiness, excellent fishing platform, needs a good engine to push them along though, you mentioned Honda 90, well that would ideally be the minimum (yep a 75 would make do) but ideally best not drop below a 90hp. Gunwales are high which is fine as long as your not sub 5' 5" ... He's got a good boat, but remember, there are poor examples of good boats out there Do you fish with your Brother-in-Law ? ... when I fish the Rosslare small boats open in Ireland there are lots of Taffs fishing the match. We houses next to the Taffs and annualy take the abuse lol ... a better bunch of fella's you would'nt find, just keep it to yourself though. They took 70 Euros off us last year, our fault really, should'nt make bets after a belly full of ale Edited May 4, 2012 by hoggysreels
30-6
Thanks for the replies much appreciated. Slight change of plan now. After a lot of research by him and talks with boat owners on forums, he has decided to leave that particular one, because it kept coming up about the polish connection (not so robust apparently) and has found a 2000 year model of uk build with a suzuki engine. Hoggysreels, Yeah there are some nice Taffs about, but there are some right ******** as well. I'm a nice one. I love the banter with "foreigners", it makes for a good atmosphere and lifelong friends sometimes. Do i fish with him ? Sometimes, but he's built like the proverbial brick ****house, and can pendulum cast 100 yds plus, so he always catches more than me. As for boat fishing, i tried it 5 times and 5 times i was sick, so i give it up, but when he gets this boat i'll give it another go and see. My oldest boy can't wait, he goes sometimes down to Plymouth on the wrecks.
Tam
If you are still looking my brother in law has one with 100hp mariner (i think) 4 stroke - the engine has probably only seen 30/40 hrs running. He had a heart scare & had to downsize

-Mongrel-
The British boats are fantastic, I have one with a 115 on the back. It is fast, stable and very seaworthy. I've been out in a 3-4 that blew up quickly while we were about 8 miles offshore, basically the tide turned and the wind strengthened, the combination of wind over tide suddenly turned a rolling swell distinctly snotty, we motored back in at about half power with no real dramas in some fairly nasty seas. We were informed by harbour control that they were considering sending a chopper to look for us as it was a 6 pushing 7 by the time we got back in. Boat handled it easily.
