As has become traditional on the Cotswold gatherings, Neil (njc110381), gets a thoughtful gift from the rest of us - as least he didn't shoot this one with his .338 win mag!

Just got back, the others are there for another night :cry1: . Awesome night last night, hit the sack about 03:30  Consequently I decided to give the clays a miss this morning as I was in rag order! A few lightweights who were tucked up in bed early did go, and had a good time by all accounts. I think Thunderbird was top gun. We had a superb roast cooked by Hendersons for lunch, and he's got an amazing banquet lined up for tonight, I'm gutted I'll miss it. As I left they were having an air rifle comp on the hilly billy range we set up in the woods, and about to light the camp fire and crack some tinnies.

Massive thanks to Mike, Duncan and Nick (Fisherman Mike, Thunderbird and Hendersons) for organising a superb weekend and doing the bulk of the cooking and graft :good:

I learned many things, including the the fact Rob (Ack Ack) is even funnier in real life than he is on here, and Terry's (Bakerboy's) flexible friend he got from the Essex boys is scary as **** :o What happens on tour etc ;)

Only took a few pics, I'm sure the others will post a load when they get back tomorrow.

There were other dishes that I didn't get pictures of and many thanks go to everyone for making the effort to come, for bringing what they did and for helping out. I'll leave it to Mike to make an announcement about next year as we all decided this venue was perfect for an annual event.

I have just got home after a fantastic weekend.

Who organised the weather? how lucky were we.

Once again the food was out of this world, Nick"hendersons" is a miracle worker, we had enough food for at least another 12 people. The Beef for Sunday lunch was cooked for over 30 hours, and was beyond words, and then the Belly of Pork on Sunday night was cooked for 19 hours and just melted. We must not forget all the special bits that kept coming out of the kitchen all afternoon

Looking forward to next years meet up, will have to remember to stop eating at least a week before we go.

One last thing

WHERE IS WILLY?

One last thing

WHERE IS WILLY?

Where indeed?

;)

Yet another roaring success, thanks again to Duncan, Mike and Nick. :good:

Got to buy myself an air rifle for the next event, for some plinking and squizzer bashing.

Top work gents.

Well done you for that 2 hour turnaround to abandon your family after flying into the UK a matter of hours earlier. :D

I don't want this to sound like the bloomin Oscars or to single out individuals because everyone made their contribution, but quietly in the background Phil (Activeviii) was doing sterling work on Sunday in the kitchen and deserves a mention here.

Thanks mate :good:

Yes great job has anybody found willy yet lol

I can confirm that the former pleasuring device unfortunately is now located in the south east of England. I'd not given it a minutes thought as I tried to stay awake on the drive home but as soon as I went to go through the first coolbox my dil-dar kicked in and I could sense that it was close. The dog thought his birthday and christmas had all come at once and it was a truly surreal if disturbing scene as he tried to grab it and have it away. I've no idea where I'm going to hide it, I don't think I could live with the shame of that thing been found in the house, as Mike said 'whatever you do, dont leave that chuffing thing here or I will definately have to kill myself'

What a fantastic weekend. I usually dread social engagements but this one was a pleasure from start to finish. Thanks for making me feel welcome gents, the company and esprit de corp was second to none. As was said by many over the weekend - 'thats the power of pigeon watch'. Couldn't agree more.

The food was fantastic. There was a constant stream of mouth watering delights making their way out of the kitchen throughout the weekend. I could have gone at any of the dishes like a bull at a gate. The finale last night that was engineered by Hendersons (the most sarcastic man in the county :good: ) with Phil as wing man was epic. There were so many dishes on the table I didn't know where to start (or finish). When I woke up this morning I didn't reckon I'd be eating anything for a good while on account of my overindulgence but by 1300 I was sat in the services having a Blunderbuss Rabbit pasty ( :good: ) and Rissoto from the night before. Champion!!

Top event gents, very well organised

Dead chuffed to have met you all :good:

It was definitely a weekend out of the top drawer. I think thanks really have to go to Mike and Duncan for there excellent work on the organising and location management.

As I'm typing this I'm eating one of the pasties and some of phils curry and it seems to be properly sorting me out. I reckon you should be able to buy them as hangover medication.

I feel sorry for all those of you who have had to work today Im not sure I could have done it.

Thanks again to every body for making it such a great weekend. I hope it is much the same next year.

Modest as ever mate but I bet there's one person we'd really miss if he wasn't there, clue, he sports and beret and foraging basket and can be seen flitting between the trees after morels and wild garlic.

He's too modest to tell you he did the Munty sarnies (with Crowman, yum ), the rhubarb crumble and the rabbit three-cup? That last one sounds a bit rude don't it?
