Harnser
Sharpshooter ,I think that you should seek out a stalker with an open ticket to cull this deer . There are plenty on here who would do it for you . Dont get involved with shot guns for the job unless you know what you are doing. It does seem strange that a mature buck should have just gone blind ,unless it has been shotin the face with a shot gun . I dont think that it would have survived very long being totally blind . apache
Why? Because we don't know why it is blind. You don't eat diseased meat. One of the things you do whilst watching a deer to shoot is if it looks and behaves normally. Not great if it happens to be full of lead making it blind. Sharpshooter.123
They eyes are a bluey White which means it is truly blind. There is articles in a few magazines where people have shot fully grown blind roe deer. I wouldn't eat it anyway, as you say you have idea why it's blind. I havnt seen it today as yet but they are nomally out and about after 7ish along with shed loads of roe and fallow
Sharpshooter.123
The bit that got me was the fact it was running into the trees not knowing where to go

Sharpshooter.123
I went out to look for him 3 times, the normal muntjac and the roe bucks were out but the blind one wasn't anywhere to be seen unfortunately!
Bowen20
Just to say do you actually think the normal on the beat bobby that stops you not the land is going to have a clue about what rifle it is you have never mind the land being cleared for it. I've been stopped lamping with my .223 on m land which is cleared for it and never ever once been asked is the land cleared for that rifle. pigeon20g
Shoot it, I dont think its right that an animal is blind like that, in the real wilds it would be killed by predators and we are the predators. If it is running into trees then it is not fair on it.
Sharpshooter.123
Hey guys, the muntjac was shot early this evening at 15 yards with the farmers .223 (open ticket) It was in bad condition and had a few battle scars on him. I couldn't get a picture as I left my phone at home and it wasn't very sporting.
